Painting

Beatrice Bissara has kept with the painting an intimate relationship for a long time. For if she only started to paint in the early 2000, studying at the same time sculpture and modeling, she has ever had a passion for color.

She likes those precise and pure colors from Jan Van Eyck, those, all in subtle shadows, from Caravaggio, as well as the green and the purple by Lorenzo Lotto. Beatrice Bissara spent a lot of time in museums all around the world, has traveled extensively, particularly in Italy, and during several years, between 1997 and 2000, has worked in the expertise of old paintings, including the 17th and 18th centuries.

It is sure that her eye is trained to capture the beauty and the depth of color transparencies that allow the layer in oil painting.

If sculpture remains her favorite medium, her deep taste for painting, her fascination for this kind of "magic", as she says, that is the act of painting, stretches her today, more than ever, to paint, with the project to catch in the same consistency than in her volume work, what is the fairest in human beings.
